Our Staff

At Old Lyme Veterinary Hospital, we value our support staff!

Veterinary Technicians & Assistants

Veterinary Technicians are a vital part of the Old Lyme Veterinary Hospital's culture. We rely on their expertise every day, and each one of our technicians is equally talented at their individual specialties, including dentistry, inventory, nutrition, and training.

Jennifer started her journey in veterinary medicine in 1996; she was with OLVH for a few years (took some time to raise her son), and returned to our team in January 2013. Jennifer is a Certified Dental Technician, she is Certified Fear Free, a Certified Bereavement Counselor, and is a Reiki Master. Jenn is happily married to Donnie and while they have many children, there is only one human child, Thomas. She lives on a farm with ducks, chickens, and Chloe the Belgian horse. She also has Lily (French bulldog), Freeda (Lab), and Brutus (Boxer). She loves being outside and is an avid trail rider.

Erin joined our team in June of 2012. She spends her free time hiking, geocaching, and volunteering with a marine animal rescue and rehabilitation program. Erin loves pet rats though she does not currently have any of her own. She shares her home with her dog, Jake, a black lab mix.

Erin is a homegrown veterinary assistant who grew up on her family's dairy farm. She always knew she had a passion for animals, but started her career in human medicine to become an RN. A couple years into nursing school, Erin decided humans just weren't for her, and she wanted to pursue veterinary medicine. She started at OLVH as a kennel assistant in June 2019 and showed her continuous passion for the care of animals. Because of that passion, Erin took on a new role as veterinary assistant in September 2019. Erin has four human children, as well as four animal children: Hazel (pit bull), Pacman (boxer), Junior (quarter horse), and Half Pint (Holstein cow). Erin also has a bunny, Snowflake, a painted turtle, Ralph, and many chickens. Erin is very outgoing and has a contagious smile. She enjoys spending time on weekend trips with her family, mostly at Mystic Aquarium or somewhere quiet in New Hampshire.

Jenn is an aspiring CVT and is attending Penn Foster. She has 8 years of customer service skills, has an interest in dentistry, and loves being at OLVH! She is married to a great guy named Chris, and has three beautiful fur children: Dutchess (a boxer wolfhound mix), Nova (a black lab), and Brover (a shih-tzu). She enjoys shopping, hanging out with her family (especially her mom), and pet sitting. Jenn is excited to meet you and your animals!

Kristine started with us in the Winter of 2020. She comes to us with over 30 years of experience as a CVT. She is board certified in anesthesia, as well as having certifications in veterinary nutrition and radiography. She currently lives with her 2 cats Leon & Smooch. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, glass blowing, and relaxing days at the beach.

Mike decided to change careers after many years working as a Computer Systems Network Administrator. He joined the staff after graduating with honors from the Veterinary Technician program at Middlesex Community College. He and his wife have 7 rescued animals: 3 dogs (Bear, Moose & Otter) and 4 cats (Morrigan, Mortimer, Magrat, and Nanny Ogg). Mike enjoys travelling with his wife and visiting our national parks. He also backpacks (with Bear), enjoys reading, dabbles in wildlife photography and brews his own beer.

Veterinary Receptionists are the face of Old Lyme Veterinary Hospital! We appreciate their expertise in managing our appointments and schedule.

Emily rejoined our team as a receptionist in April of 2019, after originally volunteering for OLVH during high school (2010-2014). She graduated in Fall 2019 from Arizona State University with her Bachelor of Science in Technical Communication, and is interested in writing and the publishing industry. She grew up in Madison and currently lives in Guilford with her darlings Frankenstein (Flemish giant rabbit), Slushy/Doohan (food-stealing parakeet), Koenig (attention-seeking parakeet), and Frog (African clawed frog). When not working or doing homework Emily enjoys drawing, painting, and writing fiction. She also enjoys exploring new hiking trails throughout CT. She's very excited to meet you all and your pets!

Practice Manager

The Veterinary Practice Manager ensures the clinic runs smoothly on a daily basis, and acts as a liaison for clients, doctors, and veterinary support staff. They are dedicated to your pet receiving the best quality of care!

Mary-Rose joined us in the Spring of 2020 with over 5 years experience in a veterinary hospital setting. She has her B.S. in Communications and enjoys working with both our clients and their pets. Mary-Rose has a passion for animal rescue, and currently has 2 rescue dogs of her own. She enjoys taking them for hikes, and will be starting scent training this Fall with her younger dog. She can often be found fostering a third dog who was in need. In her free time, Mary-Rose enjoys cooking, watching documentaries, and traveling.
